• Fiscal efficiency – resources are utilized wisely and responsibly
• Community – family events and service programs connect our club to our community
Bruno United FC is a registered non-profit that has a mission of keeping top quality soccer affordable to all families in the Rhode Island area. Behind the scenes there is a lot of work done to keep our costs and fees as low as possible. The volunteer board of directors ensures that the club fulfills its mission and is responsibly and ethically run.
Bruno United was founded in 2002 by Mike Noonan, then head coach at Brown University. Brown soccer coaches continue to coach for Bruno, and Bruno teams attend Brown soccer games. Brown Men’s Head Soccer Coach, Pat Laughlin and Brown Women’s Head Soccer Coach, Kia McNeill, serve on the Bruno United board of directors, where they provide advice and direction to the club.
In 2009, Bruno United was a founding member of the New England Premiership, a league formed by the strongest clubs in the Northeast to create the best environment for player development. Bruno United is highly regarded for its holistic, long-term approach to player development.
Because the cost of playing premier soccer is high, we offer scholarship assistance to our players with demonstrated need. Scholarships are awarded on a sliding scale. Applications are due at the time of registration and are reviewed in strictest confidence by the club’s board members and director of coaching. If you are interested in helping support our mission, please contact us.
